Friends, family, fellow volunteers! As you know, I am fostering for RAGOM and Tannin has a story to tell about how wonderful RAGOM has been to him. Tannin was Hamilton when he came over from Turkey last April. When he was a puppy, he had some kind of trauma to his right front leg. He was so young, that his bones had not completely grown yet. The trauma damaged his growth plate and his leg stopped growing. It is now about 2 inches shorter than the other. In addition, his joints in both legs have lost some of their range of motion. So he has a goofy walk/run and when he sits, he sits on his back haunches. I imagine that otherwise he would be sitting crooked with his short leg. He was seen my Dr. Rasmussen, our RAGOM surgeon but nothing could be done to fix it. He is on joint supplements for life now and we will keep him lean and strong. BUT he doesn't care! We fell in love with him before he even arrived and couldn't let him go. I had lost my RAGOM boy Skye to cancer a few months earlier and Sadie (another RAGOM foster failure) and I were looking for a pup that would enjoy fostering with us. Tannin is a happy, go lucky boy that LOVES all dogs and people of all ages. He fits in perfectly!
