Sweet Cheyenne (20-085) came into RAGOM in May of this year with a severe ear laceration from a dog bite. As a commercial breeding girl for eight years, she was in pretty rough condition both physically and emotionally. Her only purpose in life was to breed, nurture and then say goodbye to litter after litter with very limited human interaction and minimal care.
Fast forward from May and Cheyenne now has a new life ahead of her. RAGOM's wonderful vet partners first repaired her ear laceration and then removed her left ear drum and canal. This was the only way to treat and remove the infection in her ear that was a result of the medical neglect she had suffered. She is now deaf in her left ear with a little facial nerve damage. She's been such a trooper and it’s hard not to fall in love immediately with her sweet sugar face and soulful eyes.
Cheyenne is almost healed physically and now it’s time to help her heal emotionally. Love and patience are what she needs the most now in foster care so that she can begin to trust and find her way to the life she so deserves.
Although we won’t be having our traditional Goldzilla Walk for Rescue this year that we all so enjoy, we still have an incredible opportunity to help so many dogs just like Cheyenne.
